Corning introduced their new platform - Centrix
Corning Inc. (NYSE: GLW) unveiled its new platform, Centrix, an optical connectivity platform that combines what the company claims to be the industry's leading optical fiber termination density with an intuitive routing system and optimal fiber optic control.
The Centrix platform meets the requirements of multiple application spaces - headquarters, FTTx, cell-data centers - enabling customers to use a single platform in multiple optical network applications. Modular single cartridge design is ideal for efficient frame integration and integration of optical devices (ie WDM, splitters, test ports, etc.).With increased density, the Centrix platform provides effective use of both jumpers and routing areas. The customer can deploy more ports per square foot and increase usable space.
The Centrix platform supports up to 4320 LC or 2880 SC optical connectors on a standard 7-foot frame. The multi-path routing system helps prevent jumpers from accumulating and tangling, thus managing the movements, additions, and changes. The Centrix platform is available with optional rear-access cable access frame that is compatible with the GR-449. It is also available in a front frame for cable access, which allows the back frame configurations to be back. Both options allow more ports per square meter.
