I. Protection and Safety – DC Residential
1. MISTRAL65H - Consumer Units and Switchboards
Perfectly suitable for heavy duty environments and outdoor installations as they have been tested and certified for resistance to salt, dust and UV rays. They are self-extinguishing and resistant to abnormal heat and fire up to 750°C GWT and provide shock resistance IK10 (20 Joules) and IP65 degree of protection. Available in several sizes and with a wide range of accessories the MISTRAL65H enclosures represent specifically robust products to guarantee reliable distribution of energy.
2. E90 PV Fuse Holders and Fuses
Specifically designed for photovoltaic applications. Thanks to their rated voltage of 1000 and 1500 V DC, they are perfectly suitable for protection of strings in photovoltaic applications. The compact size of these devices make them easy to be installed on DIN rails in a string combiner box or in an inverter. During maintenance, they provide isolation of circuits and strings up to 1500 V DC, ensuring total safety.
3. OVR PV
Surge Protective Devices are now well integrated in the solar system to protect DC and AC sides with the aim to provide continuity of service and reduce risk of fire, protecting from overvoltages due to lightning strikes or network disturbances. The OVR PV is designed to improve the performance and protect any photovoltaic system according to IEC 61643-31 Standard.
4. S800PV-SP - High-Performance String Protection MCB
Specially developed for use in photovoltaic systems. Offers reliable protection for PV modules and lines against reverse currents from defective strings and AC regenerative feedback due to defective inverters. The high demands of PV systems have been taken into consideration in the development of the S800PV-SP.
II. Metering, Monitoring and Installation – DC Residential
1. CMS-660 - Solar String Monitoring
A solar monitoring system that remotely checks the DC current produced by each string, allowing to compare it not only with its previous performance but also with the performance of the other strings. CMS allows to improve reactivity to unusual system status, like defective strings, over-voltages, breaker trips or high temperatures, enabling to immediately implement appropriate countermeasures.
2. Insulation Monitoring Relays
They provide continuous and reliable monitoring. The devices recognize insulation faults as they develop and also tripping as soon as the value falls below minimum set thresholds. This makes systems more reliable and prevents interruptions caused by severe secondary insulation faults.
3. Conduit & Fittings
An electrical system is as reliable as its conductors and conduit systems & fittings, which provide unsurpassed protection and insulation for wires and cables in any demanding applications: power generation and solar panels.
4. Metal Framing & Support Systems

III. Protection and Switch – AC Comercial/Industrial
1. Switches
The switch family consists of a complete range of switch-disconnectors, switch fuses, changeover switches, automatic transfer switches, bypass switches, cam switches and fuses. ABB’s switches are designed for flexibility and reliable performance in a wide variety of applications: power distribution for residential and industrial buildings, HVAC, water pumping stations, data centers and photovoltaic installations.
2. InLine II - Fuse switch-disconnectors
Technically reliable and proven solution for demanding conditions. A wide range of devices with 800-1000V AC ratings up to 120kA is available to support the higher voltage architectures in solar power plants. With a wide range of accessories and cable terminal connections, InLine II guarantees the highest amount of safety and stability. For voltages up to 880V AC, an Electronic Fuse Monitoring is available as accessory.
3. SACE Tmax T4V-HA, T5V-HA and T5X-HA
It can be used in plants with voltage up to 800V AC and do not require derating in voltages and breaking capacity up to 4000m. SACE Tmax PV T4V-HA, T5X-HA and T5V-HA circuit-breakers for AC applications are available in UL, IEC 60947-2 and GB14048.2 versions.
IV. Consumer Units, Enclosures and Low Voltage Switchboards
1. GEMINI IP66 Multipurpose Enclosures
Made through co-injection technology. ABB is the first manufacturer to use it as a molding technique. This process obtains a compact external hard covering and an expanded internal soft core, guaranteeing the highest level of mechanical protection against impacts (IK10). Gemini keeps its mechanical characteristics in the long term.
2. ARIA - Universal Polyester Enclosures
Aria is a range of monobloc cabinets made of G.R.P. (Glass Reinforced Polyester) suitable for outdoor and heavy-duty environments.
3. PolySafe - Multi-Function Polyester Enclosures
A range of modular cabinets made of Glass Reinforced Polyester suitable for outdoor and heavy-duty environments, when large enclosures with high IP rating are needed.
4. System Pro E Power
An innovative solution for main distribution boards with rated current up to 6300A and short-circuit current up to 120kA. Designed to easily respond to all electrical installation requirements in terms of degree of protection, form of segregation and electrical characteristics, according to the latest international Standards and in perfect synergy with all ABB low voltage equipment.
